On the morning of July 1st, Nobel Prize winner in Economic Science Robert C. Merton visited Yuelu Academy accompanied by HNU Vice President Zhang Qiang. During his visit, Robert spoke highly of Yuelu Academy’s long history, profound cultural deposits and remarkable educational achievements.

Robert came to HNU this time for the 2015 Annual Meeting of the Asian Finance Association and would be invited to give a keynote speech on “The Role of Financial Innovation and Finance Science in Financial Stability and Economic Growth”.
On June 30, HNU President Zhao Yueyu, together with principals of the colleges and departments concerned, carried out a cordial and fruitful exchange with Robert, laying a good foundation for future cooperation.

Prof. Robert C. Merton won the Nobel Prize in Economic Science in 1997. He once served as president of the American Finance Association, member of the National Academy of Sciences of the U.S.A, and fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and is now a distinguished professor of MIT’s Sloan School of Management and an honorary professor of Harvard University.
