On March 26, the supplement of Nature magazine released the list of top 200 universities and institutes in Nature Index 2015 Asia-Pacific. HunanUniversity (HNU) ranks 20th and 18th in research institutes and universities, respectively, in the mainland of China, 47th in research institutes in the Asian-Pacific Region, with a paper count of 103 and a WFC (weighted fractional count) of 73.19 (34.1% increase compared with that in 2014). In addition, the chemistry disciplines at HNU rank 23rd in the Asian-Pacific region and 13th in China.
NPI, the nature publishing index, is issued annually by Nature Publishing Group. In November, 2014, Nature issued Nature Index 2014 Global based on WFC (weighted fractional count) for the very first time. One month later, Nature Index: 2014 China was published, according to which, HNU ranked 22 and 21respectively in research institutes and universities in the mainland of China.
