It is widely acknowledged in western philology circle that English is a phonetic language in which the letters only represents the sound and the words are created based on pronunciation, however, Zhang Gaoming and Yang Hong from HNU Periodical Press has devoted themselves into related research for years and finally found, English letters are not only phonetic but also ideographic with many morphemes with image characteristics. This research demonstrated in the monograph “Analysis on Image Characteristics in English Morpheme” has been published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing (CSP), and was praised as “ground-breaking”.
