At the awarding ceremony of 2014 Formula Student China (FSC) competition on the evening of Oct. 18, Hunan University (HNU) BITAUTO FSAE racing team won the championship of the fuel group racing for the first time. It is the team’s fifth participation in this race. During the competition, HNU racing team won the grand slam in the dynamic competitions, finishing 75-meter linear acceleration in 4.29 seconds, figure-8 racing in 4.92 seconds, high-speed obstacle avoidance in 58.93 seconds and the shortest single lap time of 1 minute and 24 seconds in endurance racing.

The racing team was directed by Chai Tian. Sun Haichao was designated as the team leader and one of the four drivers of the team. Sun Wen particularly excelled in the competition, with his record of 58.93 seconds in the high-speed obstacle race.

Established in 2006, HNU BITAUTO FSAE racing team has independently developed 7 FSAE racing cars and participated in the international FSAE competition twice. It is the first Formula Student racing team in the mainland China and also the first to take part in international racing competitions. Sticking to the philosophy of “to win glory with high concentration, to motivate passion with responsibility”, the team has successively involved more than 600 student members, and fostered a large number of professional personnel for many famous domestic automobile manufacturing enterprises.
