


The plaque-awarding ceremony for the Hunan Provincial Green Car Collaborative Innovation Center and a themed symposium were held at the lecture hall of Fulinshe teaching building in Hunan University on the morning of May 18th.
Approved in Sept. 2013, as a collaborative innovation project of the “2011 Program” (the Program of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance of PRC for Improving the Innovative Capability of the Institutions of Higher Education) in Hunan Province, the Center is supported by the Education Department and the Finance Department of Hunan Province, run by Hunan University, in cooperation with various enterprises and institutes including Changfeng Motor, Haima Motor Co. Ltd., Hunan Vary Technology Co., Ltd. and Changsha University of Science and Technology.
Relying on the state-level key disciplines of mechanical engineering and vehicle engineering as well as the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Design and Manufacturing for Vehicle Body of Hunan University, the center seizes the advantages and features of the university in automotive technology, effectively integrates resources of the collaborative parties based on their combination and cooperation, so as to explore the institutional reform for collaborative innovation in industry-university-research, make breakthroughs in key generic technology and prospective innovative technology in the design and manufacture of green cars, and further set up a development mode of industry-university-research cooperation featured by “to propel basic research complying with industrial demands, to promote industrial development based on scientific achievements, and to guide talent cultivation according to the enterprise customers”. It is expected to be a collaborative innovation platform for the research and development as well as transformation of the core generic technology, taking the lead both at home and abroad in the frontier technology of green cars.
Wu Yuehui, director of Science and Technology Division of the Education Department of Hunan Province awarded the plaque of Hunan Provincial Green Car Collaborative Innovation Center to Han Xu, dean of HNU College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering, who accepted on behalf of the center.
It has been learned that the cooperation projects and future cooperation projects of Hunan University with other enterprises and institutes include: cooperating with Changfeng Motor to refit a full electric vehicle and design a brand-new full electric vehicle; and cooperating with Tongji University, Tsinghua University and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation to apply for the founding of “State Intelligent Car of New Energy Resources Collaborative Innovation Center”
