
Hunan University and Honam University in South Korea signed an agreement on alumni communication on the afternoon of June 6th. Distinguished guests and leaders attending the signing ceremony included President of the Alumni Association Jeong Min Ho, Director of the Planning Department Park Sang Cheol, and Director of the Confucius Institute Lee Jeong-Sik from Honam University, as well as Tang Yayang, vice secretary of the CPC HNU Committee and Sheng Zhenglun,director of HNU Office of Alumni Affairs.
According to the agreement, Hunan University and Honam University will expand the communication and cooperation for their alumni associations, so as to improve the alumni work and enhance the international competitiveness of the two universities. As for exchanging visits, the alumni associations of the two parties will offer scholarships to outstanding talents and invite the opposite side to attend the important events of the university for communication and cooperation.
At the signing ceremony, President Jeong Min Ho awarded the first batch of Honam University Alumni Scholarship to five Hunan University students. He expressed his hope for taking the opportunity of this visit to deepen the cooperation, especially mutual exchanges between the alumni of the two universities. He also welcomes the students and alumni of Hunan University to visit schools and enterprises in South Korea.
Located in Gwangju of South Korea and established in 1978, Honam University is a comprehensive university supported by the state government and approved by the Ministry of Education of South Korea. It is also one of the foreign universities admitted by the Ministry of Education of China.
