Before the new term begins, Hunan University has started a freshmen-oriented public account on Weixin (WeChat), one of the most popular social networking apps in China, as well as a website called “A Valuable Book for HNU Freshmen”, to greet the freshmen with registration guides and all kinds of useful information. The freshmen can easily warm up for the campus life with their cell phones.

So far, this Weixin account has more than 4,000 followers, with over 20,000 messages posted by freshmen.

The freshmen are invited to bind their personal profile to this public account on Weixin to get kinds of information, including registration guides, dormitory condition, tuition fee payments, class grouping, as well as their classmates and roommates. Real time answers will be offered if the freshmen input “I want to ask an upperclassmen” to raise questions.
