The 2011-2012 Xiong Xiaoge Scholarship Awarding Ceremony for Students and Teachers at Hunan University & the Lecture on the Road to Success was held in the auditorium at Hunan University on April 2. Xiong Xiaoge, a well-known alumnus of Hunan University and senior vice president of IDG, together with his good friend Peter Buffett, presented the scholarship to the students. Vice President of the university Chen Shou addressed the awarding ceremony.
Xiong Xiaoge Scholarship at Hunan University, which was funded by Mr. Xiong Xiaoge with one million yuan first donated in 1995, is used for rewarding the students excellent both in conduct and learning and supporting the student arts groups and sports teams. It is the largest award fund for education established in China by Chinese overseas students.
Peter Buffett is an American musician and composer, and also the second son of investor Warren Buffett, who arouses students' curiosity and exploration of his road to success. Students interacted with Xiong Xiaoge and Peter Buffett both in English and Chinese, making a youthful, lively and lovely scene.
