
On April 3rd, Xu Huicheng, Head of the US New Morning Foundation, along with his wife, Yang Qihua, and Zhu Kunyi, project executive of the foundation, visited Hunan University (HNU) and held the 2013 Hunan University Forum for “New Morning Foundation Grants” .
As per his caring nature, Mr. Xu asked in details about the recipients’ daily life, academic performance and future plans during the forum. Chen Wei, Vice Party Secretary of the CPC HNU Committee, expressed sincere gratitude for their help, hoping that both parties will further boost their relationship, strengthen cooperation and cultivate more personnel for China.
California based, New Moring Foundation, a non-profit charity organization, was founded by over ten Chinese Americans, including Mr. Xu, in 2005. Aiming to support education in China’s poverty-stricken areas, in 2009, the Foundation established the “New Morning Foundation Grants” in HNU, providing financial aids to 50 undergraduates from poor families every year who portray exceptional character and learning ability. Until now, nearly 200 students from poor families have received the grants worth 450,000 Yuan.
