Dr. Malcolm Wilson, a Nobel Prize winner and CEO of the Petroleum Technology Research Centre (PTRC), was appointed as an adjunct professor of Hunan University on April 19.
Vice President of Hunan University Zhang Jing presented the letter of appointment to Dr. Wilson and helped him to wear the school badge at the ceremony. After the ceremony, Dr. Wilson delivered an academic report themed with "Challenge and Countermeasure to Combat Energy Crisis and Climate Change" and had academic dialogues with teachers and students.
As a world top expert in long-term research on oil-extracting technology of CO2 underground storage, Dr. Wilson, introduced by Dr. Paitoon Tontiwachwuthikul, a special professor of the national human resource program "One Thousand Talents Plan", was appointed by the CO2 Capture and Sequestration International Cooperation Center of Hunan University .
Dr. Wilson has signed the cooperation contract and Memorandum of Understanding with the university on behalf of PTRC. The two sides will launch a close cooperation in the field of CO2 capture and sequestration and enhanced oil recovery by CO2 injection.
