A delegation headed by Pete Downes, the principal of the University of Dundee (UOD) visited Hunan University (HNU) on June, 17. Vice president of HNU, Chen Shou met with the delegation to review the bilateral cooperation over the recent two years and to explore further cooperation and exchanges.

On the meeting, vice president Chen welcomed the delegation and reviewed the progress of bilateral cooperation between the two universities. He introduced that since the two universities signed a cooperation agreement in 2010, 21 outstanding HUN students majoring in engineering, physics or mathematics have passed the examination and studied under the “3+1+1” Dundee project (3 years undergraduate at HNU, 1 year undergraduate and 1 year postgraduate at UOD) which offers more choices for HNU students who want to study abroad.

Principal Pete Downes pledged that UOD would take HUN as a key partner and would provide a better platform and more opportunities for exchanges to facilitate the cooperation between the two universities.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the School of Biological Science at Hunan University and exchanged ideas with students that involved in Dundee project.
