Graduates, delightedly, dressed in blue or red graduation gowns, throw their graduation caps high in the sky and take photos at every corner of the campus. They are a sight to see at Hunan University (HNU) in June.

HNU held its 2011 convocation ceremony in the auditorium on June 25.More than 400 graduates and their guests attended the ceremony, experiencing the moment of flipping their tassels.

Accompanied by the music, HNU president Zhong Zhihua, former leader Yu Ruqin, vice-president Zhang Jing, Zhang Qiang and assistance to the president Yu Dejie, officiated the ceremony, awarding these graduate representatives degree certificates, settling tassels on their caps and taking photos with them.

President Zhong Zhihua, on behalf of the University, congratulated the graduates. He expressed that the significance of conferring academic degrees is far beyond its format and it is a proof of the study process, of sowing and reaping and a declaration to scale new heights. He also remarked: aim high and assume responsibility, keep studying and being innovative, focus on reality and being a pioneer.

Vice-president Zhang Jing read out Decision of Hunan University Degree Evaluation Committee on Conferring 2010-2011 Year’s Doctor and Master Degree, based on which 244 doctoral graduates and 3775 master graduates were awarded degree certificates.
