The picture of "Gathering in Hunan" designed by four students from Hong Kong and Hunan was displayed on a background board in Hunan University, marking the opening of students exchanges between Hong Kong and Hunan on July 3, 2011.

Assisted by the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R, Hong Kong Youths Unified Association and Kowloon Region School Heads Association held this event. Over 250 college and high school teachers and students would visit Changsha and Shaoshan and carry out exchanges with local students from July 3 to 6.

After the opening ceremony, these young students from Hong Kong came to Shaoshan, where they presented flower baskets to the bronze figure of Chairman Mao and visited the former residence and relic museum of Chairman Mao Zedong.
