Signing of exchange cooperation agreement with Politecnico di Torino
At the invitation of Professor Luigi Frati, rector of Università di Roma ‘la Sapienza’, Hunan University (HNU)’s Party secretary Professor Liu Keli headed a delegation to Italy and visited some universities, from June 22 to 25. The delegation consists of members from HNU Graduate School, School of Design, School of Law and Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.
On arrival at Università di Roma ‘la Sapienza, the university vice-rector Professor Federico Masini presided over a welcoming ceremony, where he extended a warm welcome in Chinese to the HNU delegation. He said that Università di Roma ‘la Sapienza attaches great importance to its cooperation with China, especially with Chinese universities. Professor Liu briefly introduced HNU’s history and current development, and also emphasized the significance of mutual-beneficial bilateral cooperation. In the meeting, Professor Liu and Rector Luigi Frati signed an inter-university cooperation framework agreement In the spirit of this framework agreement, School of Law and School of Design of HNU signed an “Implementation Agreement” with the correspondent departments of Università di Roma ‘la Sapienza. Based on these settlements, the two universities will adopt flexible approaches to achieve bilateral cooperation in the field of cultivating high quality talents, researches and teacher exchange. This treaty will be applied initially to law and design majors and later to some other departments.
While visiting Politecnico di Torino, Professor Liu held a meeting with the university rector professor Profumo. The two universities also signed an inter-university cooperation framework agreement and exchanged ideas in the field of mechanics, automobile and design.
The delegation also paid a visit to Design Department of Politecnico di Milano and extended the inter-university cooperation framework agreement. Liu entrusted HNU School of Law to give importance and fully utilize the renewed agreement with University of Rome Tor Vergata. Besides, the delegation enjoyed a tour of famous Italdesign-Giugiaro.
Though with a tight schedule, Professor Liu paid a special visit to those HNU doctoral students who study in Italy. He asked about their study and daily life and hoped that they would make contributions to friendly Sino-Italy exchange.
