
Business School of Hunan University kicked off the 100th anniversary celebration on Oct.6.
Prestigious alumni including Xu Xianping, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Committee, and Tian Jin, deputy director of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, paid a special visit to and congratulated on the 100th anniversary of the school. Vice Governor of Hunan Province He Baoxiang delivered a speech at the anniversary. Participants also consist of presidents from universities of USA, Canada, Iceland, Holland and famous domestic universities, and presidents from business schools as well as alumni at home and abroad.
Business School of Hunan University was once called Hunan Business Educators Training Center founded in 1911, which was universally acknowledged as the source of modern Chinese business education. In 1912, the institute changed its name to Hunan Secondary Business School and Mao Zedong once studied here.
At the anniversary, President of Hunan University Zhao Yueyu summarized the century-old culture essences of the business school. He vowed to seize the opportunity under the new situation of economic globalization, actively explore new education philosophy and training model and endeavor to build business disciplines with distinct features. He also hoped that the university would make persistent efforts by strengthening, planning and cultivating innovation-oriented talents so as to lay a more solid foundation for Hunan’s leapfrog development.
