The 62nd anniversary celebration for the Chinese Young Pioneer themed with “New and Old-generation Young Pioneers Exchange Views on Growing up” was held at the Affiliated Primary School Attached to Hunan University on Oct. 12. Over 1,000 youth pioneers participated in the event, wearing their red scarves and chanting the Young Pioneer Song.
This event was co-organized by the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Hunan Provincial Working Committee of Chinese Young Pioneers. Shen Ruiting, director of the Hunan Provincial Committee for the Wellbeing of the Youth, Zhang Zhiheng, secretary of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Youth, and Feng Haiyan, director of the Hunan Provincial Working Committee of Chinese Young Pioneers presented at the event and put on red scarves for the new young pioneer representatives.
Yu Ruqin, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a former Young Pioneer, Dai Birong, who was honored as “Teen Hero” when she was 11 years old, Yang Huaibao, the first “Role Model in China”, and Ren Jiaxin, a volunteer of the Go West Collage Graduate Volunteer Program of Hunan Province and awardee of the title of “Party Member Model in Daily Life” were invited to address at the event, expressing their expectation for the young pioneers in Hunan from the aspects of patriotism, concern for the Party, lofty idea, and growing up.
