Between June 9 and 14, a 12-membered delegation from the Confucius Institute at the University of Regina participated in a summer camp in China. The event was funded by the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), and organized by the Confucius Institute at the University of Regina and the Confucius Institute of Hunan University.
With the theme of “Understanding China”, camp members visited Beijing, Changsha, and Shaoyang (Huayao area, Longhui County). Through hands-on activities and field visits in urban and rural areas, they learned about the status quo of economic and cultural development in various regions of China. During their stay in Hunan, they visited HNU School of Design and the Huxingshan Huayao area in Longhui County, a designated poverty alleviation site of HNU.
