Opening ceremony of the 2018 Yuelu International Young Scholars Forum

The 2018 Yuelu International Young Scholars Forum opened on December 27. More than 110 young scholars from world’s top research and educational institutions participated, including Harvard University, University of Oxford, and University of Cambridge. The forum included topic reports, academic discussions, and talent meeting, focusing on the cutting-edge technology and academic trend. Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) academician Luo An, HNU leaders Deng Wei, Duan Xianzhong, and Liu Jinshui, were present.

Secretary Deng expected that the forum would become a high-end communication platform for Chinese and overseas talents. He hoped the participators would get a better understanding about and settle down in Hunan University, to devote themselves into HNU’s development.

There were 12 sub-forums, including materials, electrical and information, chemistry and chemical engineering, bioscience, and finance and statistics. Outstanding scholars exchanged views on cutting-edge research areas, and visited campus and laboratories.
