On September 20, Hunan University revealed its two new racing cars, respectively developed by the Hunan University Racing Team (HUR) and Hunan University Electric Racing Team (ERT).
ERT-2019, the green one, is an electric vehicle. It has a steel-tube truss structure. The body is made of carbon fiber composite, which makes a lightweight of only 208.5 kg. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds, and the braking distance at 100 km/h is 27 meters.
HUR-2019, the red one, is a fuel vehicle. For the first time, the car frame coordinates semi-monocoque and rear frame, with the roll cage totally laminated into the monocoque. The weight of the whole car frame system is only 36 kg. The developers innovated the dry-sump lubrication system, and analyzed the optimum transmission ratio based on practical endurance operation.
These two racing cars were made by the team members.
This October, the HUR will compete in the Formula Student China (FSC) in Xiangyang, Hubei Province. Later in this November, the ERT will compete in the Formula Student Electric China (FSEC) at the Zhuhai International Airshow Center.
