The Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council recently adjusted the disciplines authorized to confer degrees. HNU was approved to establish two new first-level disciplines to confer doctorate in pharmacy and master’s degree in basic medical sciences respectively, while two first-level disciplines conferring master’s degrees in archaeology and physical education will be withdrawn.

Now HNU has 28 first-level disciplines qualified to confer doctorates and one discipline for professional doctorates, as well as 35 first-level disciplines to confer masters’ degrees and 20 disciplines for professional master’s degrees. A rational and mutually supportive discipline system is being established.
