On October 21, the China National Intellectual Property Administration and the Ministry of Education resealed the list ofnational demonstration and pilot universities for intellectual property management. HNU was among the first batch of 30 demonstration universities.

In recent years, HNU has made vigorous efforts to explore intellectual property management system and mechanism. It rolled out a series of measures on commercialization of research findings, and founded the Center for Commercialization of Research Findings (also an intellectual property center). A “HNU-style” whole-process service has been formed, covering project selection and cultivation, patent analysis and guide, financing matchmaking and business negotiation, and implementation and commercialization. In 2019, HNU was designated by the Ministry of Education as one of the first batch ofChinese university bases for research finding commercialization and technology transfer.

HNU’s intellectual property work was highly recognized by the national authority. A group of central media covered HNU’s intellectual property management and application, and the “HNU-style” commercialization of research findings.
