The Ministry of Education recently announced the second batch of 5,750 national-level first-class undergraduate courses. HNU has 33 courses on the list, including 11 online courses, four virtual simulation experiment courses, seven offline courses, seven online-offline combined courses, and four social practice courses. So far, HNU has opened 70 national-level first-class undergraduate courses.

According to an implementation guideline issued by the Ministry of Education in 2019 on constructing the first-class undergraduate courses, about 10,000 national-level and 10,000 provincial-level first-class courses will be developed within three years. In November 2020, the ministry unveiled the first batch of national-level first-class undergraduate courses, including 37 courses opened by HNU.
