Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, visited Hunan University on August 26, 2024, inspecting the cultivation of cultural heritage talent.

Secretary Shen asked to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and President Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions made during his inspection tours in Hunan. He called for coordinating and advancing an integrated reform across educational, scientific, and talent institutions to promote the advantageous integration of resources between universities and museums. Efforts should be made to further advance the training of cultural heritage talent and the development of museums, thereby supporting the high-quality growth of cultural heritage and related industries in Hunan, he added.

Yang Haodong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Publicity Department of the committee, as well as HNU Party Secretary Deng Wei and HNU President Duan Xianzhong attended the inspection tour.

HNU's Research Center for Si Ku Studies of China and Research Center for Bamboo and Silk Manuscripts are founded based on Yuelu Academy. Secretary Shen visited the two centers, learning about their collection and study of historical documents and development of talent cultivation mechanism. He also listened to a report on academic research and cultivation of professional talent based on cultural relics in collection.
