The First Youth Forum & Symposium on China’s Open Economy under the “New Normal” convened in Hunan University (HNU) from June 26 to 28. It was organized by HNU and cosponsored by the secretariats of the collaborative group of International Trade discipline of China’s colleges and universities and its youth forum. Present were approximately 80 experts and scholars from home and abroad.

Two keynote lectures, six sub-forums for young professionals and six themed sub-forums were held during the forum. Celebrated experts and young scholars in the field of international trade from famous universities at home and abroad, including Boston College, Lowa State University, University of International Business and Economics, Peking University and Renmin University, centered around “China’s Open Economy under the ‘New Normal’” and probed into topics such as leading theories of international economics, multilateral trade system and regional trade liberalization, global value chain and the international network of new division of labor, development of finance and trade, direct investment of foreign trade and trade upgrade, as well as international trade and new economic geography.
