On the morning of May 14, under the Chinese-overseas cooperation, Hunan University signed an official contract with Shenzhen Bao’an District Municipal People’s Government and Shenzhen Industrial Design Profession Association to establish a special industrial design college of Hunan University in Shenzhen Bao’an district this year. It will soon afterwards enroll the first batch of Master of Engineering students majoring in industrial design.
With English as the medium of instruction, the college will recruit international teachers and students and integrate high technologies like mobile Internet and Internet of Things (IOT) to meet the demands of industrial environment in an effort to upgrade Shenzhen. The college focuses on education with formal schooling ranging from undergraduates, postgraduates to doctoral candidates. With “Small quantity, better quality” as the principle, the college population will be limited to 1500. In 2013, the college, supported by the media laboratory, will enroll on-job postgraduates in Shenzhen to proactively advance the cooperation with international universities and colleges and enroll students with double Master’s Degree in digital products and media design under the Chinese-overseas cooperation of English teaching, with high aims of laying the foundation for English teaching resources and international schooling.
