HNU Wins First Prize in 2017 World Robot Conference

1 vs 1 Robot combat competition

The World Robot Conference was held in Beijing between August 23 and 27, 2017. Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong addressed the opening ceremony.

The HNU Robert Workshop, instructed by HNU Modern Engineering Training Center teachers Chen Haowen and Fang Lu, participated in the 1 vs 1 Robot fighting, and the lightweight humanoid robot fighting, and won first and second prize respectively.

The World Robot Conference was hosted by the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the China Association for Science and Technology, and organized by the Chinese Institute of Electronics, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, and the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area Management Committee.

The Conference had three parts – forum, expo, and contest, which are respectively reputed as the “Davos”, Chinese “Hannover Messe”, and “Olympics” in robot area. The contest of this year, a top-level robot contest, included the China UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) Open Finals, BCI Controlled Robot Contest, Robot Combat Competition, Youth Design Contest, and the International USV Open 2017. More than 4,500 competitors (including 400 foreigners) in 1,017 teams from over 10 countries and regions participated in.

The robot combat competition  was co-organized by the Chinese Institute of Electronics, and the International League of Robot Competition and Maker Education.
