The first Fudan University – Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) – Hunan University (HNU) General Education Study Tour Program was launched in HNU on December 30, 2017.

The three-day study tour in Hunan, themed on “Chinese traditional culture and ancient academy”, was organized by HNU Academic Affairs Office, Overseas Students Office, and Yuelu Academy. A total of 80 Fudan, CUHK, and HNU undergraduate students attended.
Several activities were organized, including orienteering; lectures on “historic value of the Mawangdui unearthed relics” and “traditions and cultural courses of Chinese ancient academies”; and, visits to Yuelu Mountain, Yuelu Academy, Chinese Academy Museum, and Hunan Museum.

The 2018 study tour will be launched in Fudan University. Teacher Yu Chaoyi from Fudan University invited HNU to jointly organize the general education courses, and welcomed HNU students to attend the courses in Fudan University.

Fudan University has taken the lead in promoting general education reform in Chinese mainland in recent years, inheriting Chinese ancient academy traditions and pursuing an innovative academy-style life. CUHK has a long-standing, complete, and internationally famous general education system founded by academic masters Qian Mu, and Mou Zongsan. The three universities, based on respective advantages, collaborate in general education courses to make innovation and lead a new direction in this field.
