To facilitate the communication of faculty members and students with the outside world, the university has developed two independent sets of email system with separate domains of hnu.cn and hnu.edu.cn. All email boxes have been put into service for free since January 1st, 2010.

A. @hnu.cn

 For the in-service faculty members only. The email system with this domain has been put into service since February, 2005 and all the email addresses within the system are ended with @hnu.cn.

 No new user can be registered in this email system, yet the registered users can continue to use this system.

 Users can receive or send emails in various ways such as WEB, POP3 or SMTP. Visiting the website ofhttp://webmail.hnu.cn, users can receive or send emails through on-campus email boxes after login. Moreover, users can use third-party mail client softwares like Outlook and Foxmail with configurations as follows to receive or send emails:

The server address of POP3: mail.hnu.cn;

The server address of SMTP: mail.hnu.cn;

B. @hnu.edu.cn

 The email system with this domain has been put into service since February, 2010 and all the mail box names are ended with @hnu.edu.cn. With all the faculty members and students as its user group, a new email box will be available after registration on the website ofhttp://its.hnu.cn..

 The faculty members are provided with an email box with the capacity of 1 GB and the students 200 MB.

 Users can receive or send emails in various ways such as WEB, POP3 or SMTP. Visiting the website ofhttp://webmail.hnu.edu.cn, users can receive or send emails through on-campus email boxes after login. Moreover, users can use third-party mail client softwares like Outlook and Foxmail with configurations as follows to receive or send mails:
