Liu Jinshui, male, born in 1962 in Tianmen of Hubei Province, CPC member, the current Deputy President, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor and Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Committee of Hunan University; concurrent post of Vice Chairman of Hunan Foundry Association, Vice President of Hunan Machinery Industry Association, former Director of Material Forming Department of the Mechanical and Automotive Engineering College of Hunan University, Director of the Office of Industry and Economy Management of Hunan University, General Manager of Hunan University Assets Management Company, and Assistant to the President.

In 1984, graduated from Hunan University, majoring in Foundry;

In 1987, received Master's Degree;

In 1999, received Ph. D Degree and promoted to Professor;

Successively held the posts of Director of Material Forming Department of the Mechanical and Automotive Engineering College of Hunan University, Director of the Office of Industry and Economy Management of Hunan University, General Manager of Hunan University Assets Management Company, and Assistant to the President.

Since 2008, serves as Vice President of Hunan University.

Professor Liu has long been engaged in teaching and research of materials modeling and control, and theoretical simulation of material properties, and is academic leader in the subject of materials modeling and control. His current research mainly focuses on cast alloy material and forming process, automotive lightweight materials and structure design, the expendable pattern casting technology of automobile covering parts, casting technology and equipping of automotive structural parts, hydrogen storage materials, design of high-strength magnesium alloy, the electronic structure and calculation of alloy, and so on. He undertakes more than 10 research projects at ministerial or provincial; among them, the project of "Localization of wearing parts of efficient impact crusher" wins the second prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the State Administration of Machinery Industry; the project of "Application and Promotion of new-type heat-resistant cast iron in sintering pallet" wins the third prize of Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award; the project of "Flexible PU breathable garment leather & sofa leather with an annual output of 12 million square meters" wins the Excellence Award among all the innovation projects listed in "the Ninth Five-Year Plan". He has published two monographs, namely, Casting Handbook (Volume III, casting of non-alloy), and New Materials Science and Technology (section of metallic materials), and more than 100 papers inScandinavian Journal of Metallurgy, Materials and Design, Materials Science and Engineering A, Journals Alloys and Compounds, Materials Letters, Materials Science, Acta Metallurgica Sinica, Science in Chinaand other journals.
