Chen Shou, born in November 1956 in Longchuan of Guangdong Province, CPC member, the current Deputy President, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor and Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan University Committee.

He also serves as a member of the Disciplinary Appraisal Panels under the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, member of the Disciplinary Appraisal Panels under the National Natural Science Fund Committee (NSFC), member of Social Science Committee of MOE, member of MBA Education Steering Committee, Deputy Director of the Chinese Association of Quantitative Economics (CAQE) and Chairman of Hunan University Education Committee. He is editor in chief and editorial member of five national core periodicals includingSystem Engineering,The Journal of Quantitative & Technical Economics and Journal of Management Sciences in China. In 2001, he was approved by the State Council to enjoy the special government allowances.

In June.1984, graduated with Bachelor Degree in Engineering from Hunan University, majoring in Computer Science and Application;

In Dec. 1986, graduated with Master Degree of Engineering from Hunan University, majoring in Engineering Management;

In 1998, received Ph.D Degree of Management Science and Engineering from Hunan University as an on-job student.

1992-2000: served as Vice Dean, Secretary of the college CPC Committee and Dean of the International Business School, Hunan University;

2000-2004: served as Dean of the College of Business Administration, Hunan University;

2002-2004: concurrent post of Vice Director of the Graduate School, Hunan University;

2004-2005: served as Assistant to the President of Hunan University;

Since 2005, serves as Vice President of Hunan University.

Professor Chen is now a member of the Discipline Assessment Group of Academic Degree Commission of the State Council, a member of the Discipline Assessment Group of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a member of the Social Sciences Committee of the Ministry of Education, a member of the National MBA Education Steering Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Institute of Quantitative Economics, Deputy Director of the Academic Degree Evaluation Committee of Hunan University, Editor in Chief and Editorial Board Member of five national core journals including Systems Engineering, The Journal of Quantitative & Technical Economics, and Journal of Management Sciences in China.

Professor Chen has long been engaged in teaching, scientific research and administration. He has undertaken or completed 5 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation and the Social Science Foundation, and 5 projects at ministerial or provincial level, published more than 100 research papers and 4 monographs or textbooks, and won the first prize, second prize, and third prize of Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, the second prize and third prize of Hunan Provincial Excellent Social Science Achievements Award, and the first prize and second prize of Hunan Provincial Excellent Teaching Achievements Award.
