


The 17th Hunan University (HNU) Games opened at the south campus on the evening of Oct. 27. More than 9,800, including 25 student teams and 35 faculty teams, attended the opening ceremony. Secretary of the CPC Hunan University Committee Jiang Changzhong announced the Games’ opening.
This was the first session of HNU Games that opened in evening at the floodlit stadium, and also the longest-lasting one in HNU’s history. It would be organized by reference to the World University Games.




Teachers and students of the Physical Education College staged aerobics, Latin dance, and taekwondo, while retired faculties giving performances of fan dances. The National Flag guards, red flag teams, and athlete delegations paraded into the stadium successively.





Football games started in advance on Sept. 20, while some other main events were organized from Oct. 28 to 30, covering track and field, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, cheerleading and mountain climbing for students, as well as track and field events and interesting games for faculties. All events would be concluded on Oct. 30.
