The Integrity Society of Hunan University won the first prize at the communication and appraisal conference of the National College Student Creative Design Competition for Building A Clean Government held in Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BUAA) on May 25th and 26th.
The entry project “An Innovative Research on College Students’ Participation in the Supervision of Daily Management at Colleges and Universities” hosted by the Integrity Society of Hunan University stood out from the rest projects of more than 10 universities nationwide and won the first prize. The project, taking Hunan University as an example, made research on the current situation of students’ involvement in the supervision of university’s daily management by means of questionnaire survey and interviews, analyzed current difficulties, and put forward countermeasures and suggestions to strengthen students’ participation in supervision on daily management of colleges and universities.
Supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the event was hosted by the Research Committee for Integrity and Governance of the Chinese Society for Management Modernization and the BUAA Integrity Research and Education Center. The theme for this session was “Innovations for College Students’ Participation in Clean and Honest Management in Higher Education Institutions”.
The HNU Integrity Society, as an academic research organization initiated by the students, has been actively committed to integrity research and education. Over the past two years, the society members have participated in the compilation of “Report on Development of Cultural Soft Power in China – Subreport on the Development of Integrity Culture in China”, a philosophy and social science development report submitted to the Ministry of Education and published by Peking University Press. The project “Thinking on the Development of the Integrity Societies in Higher Education Institutions” chaired by the key member of the society was approved as a National Student Innovation Training (SIT) project in April 2013. The society members also participated in "Integrity Education for College Students” (a featured ideological and political education project for college student in Hunan), “Research on Construction of Integrity Culture in Universities” (a project of science education planning in Hunan Province), “College Students’ Integrity in Action” (a moral education practice project at Hunan University). Some members have also been involved in the construction of the database for the Clean Government Research Base of Hunan Province.
