Famous comedienne Jo Hye Ryun visited Hunan University to meet with the students of the HNU News Dissemination Television Art Institute on the afternoon of March 21st.
Having dreamt of becoming a TV star since childhood, Jo met a lot of failure on the way but never gave up. Eventually she found her own direction to become a comedy star.
Jo devotes her free time to learning Chinese language and studying the characteristics of the TV programs of China, Japan and Korea. She believes that Chinese and Korean, entertainment programming share a lot of similarities and that through more exchange both sides stand to gain a great deal. When asked about emceeing technique, Jo said that the host’s personal abilities and the pre-show preparation are both of vital importance to create a successful a TV program.
Jo emphasized the importance of reading. A woman over 40, she reads about 30 books every month, and also writes works of her own.
This is the institute’s third recent international exchange, after the visits of the Youth Delegation from Japan and the Royal Roads University Delegation from Canada. It provides a platform for the students to expand their horizons and consider their future vocational paths.
