The activity of “Promoting Bridge Campus” was held in Hunan University on March 23, attracting over 200 bridge enthusiasts. Hunan University Bridge Association was set up the same day.
Chen Zelan, Vice Chairman Chinese Contract Bridge Association (CCBA), Gu Ling, an international bridge champion and bridge expert Zhu Xiaoyin interacted with students on the occasion.
Later in the afternoon, the bridge enthusiasts played the game at the gymnasium in the north campus of Hunan University while amongst guidance and comments by the experts..
Jointly held by CCBA and the Bridge Branch of Beijing Municipal Committee of Chinese Peasants’ and Workers’ Democratic Party, this activity has been held successfully in Weifang University in Shandong Province and Soochow University in Jiangsu Province since 2012.
Hunan University has a long history for developing this game. It has set card rooms and offered optional contract bridge courses for students. The student teams from the university have won provincial championships several times. Now, the university is making every effort to bid for the 2014 National University Bridge Championship.
