The Yuelu Academy International Academic Exchange Center was founded recently.
It engages in multilevel international academic exchange and cooperation, with the aim of further improving the academic competitiveness, influence, and international standard of Yuelu Academy. It will provide teachers and students a professional and international academic exchange platform, and foster more high-quality and innovative talents with international views.
Young teacher Zhan Beibei holds the post of the center’s director. She was graduated from School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) of University of London with her research degree (PhD) in Chinese studies. According to Zhan, Yuelu Academy has collaborated with dozens of overseas research institutions and universities, including University of Hamburg, the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), Taiwan University, Taiwan Normal University, and University of Macau, and has cooperation intention with University of Cambridge, Harvard University, and Cornell University.
In recent years, Yuelu Academy carried forward a number of international exchange programs for students. Every year, the Yuelu Academy Development Foundation and the Jiang Huan International Exchange Foundation provide financial support for 20% of Yuelu Academy students to take long or short term programs overseas. Teachers are encouraged to participate in the overseas academic exchange conferences.
Visiting scholar programs are in full swing. About 20 Chinese or foreign prestigious scholars are invited to give lectures in the academy every year. A batch of overseas Chinese talents have been introduced to accelerate international recruiting, cooperation with world’s famous universities, and academic visit programs.
Beyond that, Yuelu Academy intends to increase its collection of English books, develop English website, organize overseas study experience exchange forums, and make more efforts in international promotion.
