On July 17, the “Embrace China—Chinese Bridge” Overseas Chinese Youths Hunan Summer Camp started its first stop at HNU Yuelu Academy. Related responsible persons from various departments of HNU welcomed overseas Chinese youths from 18 countries and regions of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.
The summer camp was hosted by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and Hanban, and organized by Hunan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. It has been held for four consecutive sessions. In the past three years, more than 300 overseas Chinese youths participated in the activity and experienced Huxiang culture.
Paying a visit to Yuelu Academy was a highlight of the first stop, where they could be exposed to knowledge on the origin of Huxiang culture. Over the following fortnight, 137 delegation members, consisting of overseas tour leaders and youngsters, will visit Xiangtan, Huaihua, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, and other four places to experience colorful outdoor activities. They will have a chance to learn Chinese etiquette, tea art, Chinese classics, paper-cutting, Flower Drum Opera, and Xiang embroidery.
