TheTimes Higher EducationWorld University Rankings 2019 were announced on May 2. HNU was among the top 100 Asian universities,rising 23 places over last year to 25thin Chinese mainland.
The rankings included more than 400 universities of 27 countries and regions. There were 73 Chinese mainland universities on the rankings, 26 of which were among top 100 in Asia.
The Times Higher Education, QS, USNews, and ARWU produce the four major world university academic rankings. The Times Higher Education isthe only global university performance table to judge research-intensive universities across all of their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook.
The performance indicators are grouped into five areas: teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income, and reputation); citations (research influence); international outlook (staff, students, and research); and, industry income (knowledge transfer).
