The 2nd National University Contest on Intelligent Robotic Innovations was held on May 5 and 6 in Yuyao, Zhejiang Province. Seven HNU teams competed with more than 1,400 teams, and won two first prizes, one second prize, two third prizes, and two nomination prizes.

The National University Contest on Intelligent Robotic Innovations was hosted by the China Association of Higher Education, the Engineering Graphics Discipline Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, and the contest organizing committee. It was organized by the Zhejiang University Robotics Institute, the China Engineering Education Commission, and the Robotics Technology and Application Journal. The finals was undertook by the Yuyao Municipal People’s Government.
The contest was launched on December 7, 2018. It had three parts: creative intelligent robot; Rubik’s Cube Robot competition; and, IRFC intelligent robot fighting.
There were 1,036 teams from 192 universities participating in the creative intelligent robot and Rubik’s Cube robot competition, and 375 teams from 148 universities in the robot fighting part. The finalists for the three parts were respectively 136, 62 and 299 teams. HNU had one candidate team for each of the creative intelligent robot and Rubik’s Cube robot competition, and five candidate teams for the robot fighting.
