Vice Provost Brent White, Assistant Vice President Charles Wang, and Dean of the College of Law Prof. Marc Miller fromUniversity of Arizona (UA), and representatives of UACollege of Engineering, anddepartment of international affairs visited HNU on June 26, 2019.
During their stay, an inter-university framework agreement was reached on joint programs and all-round strategic cooperation between the two universities.
HNU Vice President Li Shutao met with the guests, together with the persons in charge of international affairs, and College of Civil Engineering.
Li welcomed AU guests, and introduced HNU’s history, research, education, talent programs, faculty, and educational collaborations. He hoped to cooperate with AU through joint education programs, so as to elevate HNU’s education and research to the international standards, and provide a high-quality and diversified learning platform for students.
Brent White appreciated the host’s hospitality, and expressed confidence and expectations to the future cooperation. He hoped to take this opportunity to enhance communication, and deepen cooperation to benefit both universities.
Vice President Li and Brent White signed on behalf of their respective university on the strategic cooperation agreement.
The AU guests visited HNU College of Civil Engineering, and talked with the managers, teachers, and persons in charge of international affairs. The civil engineering discipline directors of both universities presented their discipline development, and discussed on the joint undergraduate program in civil engineering. After the meeting, the guests went to HNU School of Law, and exchanged views with school managers in terms ofjoint educational programs for law majors.

It is included in the Ivy League, and also one of the62 members of the Association of American Universities (AAU), which is composed of America’s leading research universities.
