The 7thChina Foreign Language Teaching and Research Expert Forum, and also the editorial board meeting of theJournalofForeign Language Teaching and Research, was held on October 25, 2019. It was organized by HNU College of Foreign Languages. Nearly 50 senior foreign language experts from 21 higher educational institutions participated, including Peking University, Zhejiang University, Nanjing University, Southeast University, Sun Yat-Sen University, and National University of Singapore. HNU Vice President Xu Guozheng addressed the opening ceremony.
There were four topics – new tasks and topics of foreign language teaching in the new era; innovative development oftheories and methodologies for foreign languages and literatures research; foreign language teaching andglobalized talent cultivation in the new era; and, new perspectives of Chinese and foreign languages research. Twenty-one professors delivered academic reports on these topics respectively.
