The Architectural Society of China (ASC) recently announced the 100 winners of theArchitectural Creation Award (2009-2019). HNU professor Wei Chunyu and his team’s works – China Academy Museum; HNU Architectural Complex of Graduate School, Polytechnic Building, and Aquatics Stadium; and, Xie Zilong Image Art Museum, were awarded.

The award is reviewed by ASC to recognize the architectures which presentsignificant architectural design value, distinctive characteristics and standard of the era, orpotential of architectural heritage. It reviewed and summarized China’s architectural achievements over the past decade, to commemorate the important architectural creations related to China’s socialist development.

Architectures completedduring the 2009-2019 period were appraised.One hundred were awarded, including the China Pavilion of the 2010 Shanghai Expo, Xi’an Tang West Market Museum, Yan’an Revolution Memorial Hall, and Canton Tower.

Zhuzhou Wang Family’s House (Qiu Jin’s former residence) Renovation and restoration project, designed Prof. Liu Su from HNU School of Architecture, won first prize of the outstanding traditional architecture award.

Li Zijian Art Musuem as a part of the Yanghu Wetland Park (first prize of outstanding public architecture award);

HNU Graduate School, Science and Technology and culture exhibition center of CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd., and Music College of Hunan University of Technology (second prize of outstanding public architecture award); and,

Landscape design for Zone D, first phase of Yanghu Ecological Remediation and Conservation Project (third prize of outstanding garden design award).
