A grand ceremony to celebrate the 110 anniversary of the HNU Business School was held at the lecture hall of the school on October 6, 2021.

Wang Keming, former vice director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress, Dai Daojin, former Hunan vice governor and former vice chairman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee, and HNU President Duan Xianzhong attended and Duan addressed the ceremony.

A number of leaders, experts, alumni, and faculty and student representatives participated at the site or via internet. Leaders and experts included Wang Shoufa, president of the 5^thcouncil of the China Education Association of Machinery Industry (CEAMI); Lei Guanghua, standing committee member of the CPC Committee of the China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach); Luan Yongyu, secretary of the CPC Committee of the Zhongnan University of Economics and Law; Liu Keli, former secretary of the CPC Committee of HNU; Prof. Wang Yaonan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Wang Shouyang, academician of the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World; Liu Ke, academician of the Australian Engineering Society; HNU leaders Cao Shengyuan and Xie Chi; and, principals of some Chinese universities, and deans of more than 100 domestic business schools.

Xia Shuren, secretary of the CPC Committee of the Business School presided over the ceremony. Dean Yang Zhi delivered a speech titled “Construct a world-class business school with historical and cultural inheritance and Chinese characteristics”.

The participators watched a promo video presenting the school’s 110-year history and rapid development in recent decade. A book to mark the 110^thanniversary of the school was officially publicized by six professors – Lou Yanbo, Li Shucheng, Lu Xianguang, Chen Shou, Xie Chi, and Ma Chaoqun.

Nearly 100 business schools of Chinese and foreign universities extended congratulations on HNU Business School’s 110^thbirthday via letters, videos, and calls, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, University of Southern California, and University of Delaware.

After the ceremony, a series of forums were held, including Academician Forum, Business School Development Forum, Business Administration Forum, Management Science and Engineering Forum, Discipline Construction and Talent Cultivation Forum, and Alumni Forum.

The ceremony starts with a chorus of the National Anthem at 9:00 am.
