The Yuelu Seed Industry Summit opened in Changsha on October 9, 2021. Chen Zhili, former Chinese State Councilor, deputy chairperson of the 11th Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, and president of the China Association of Senior Scientists and Technologists, addressed the summit and announced its opening. Wu Guiying, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, delivered a speech.
At the opening ceremony, the Yuelu Mountain Seed Industry Innovation Center reached agreements with research institutions, including the National Supercomputing Center Changsha. They will jointly built a key generic technology platform that open to related industrial sectors, and construct a “national powerhouse of science and technology” in biological seed sector.
Themed “undertake new mission of vitalizing seed industry, lead new journey with innovation”, the summit is committee to thoroughly implementing the national initiative of seed industry vitalization, accelerate implementation of the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy, facilitate high-quality of modern seed industrial chains, and construct modern seed industry innovation highlands.
The National Supercomputing Center Changsha will leverage its advantages in computing and information technology, to assist in the construction of an independent and controllable innovation system for seed industry, build seed industry innovation highlands, shoulder the new mission of seed industry vitalization, and support building of a national seed industry laboratory.
