The national final of the 16th National College Students Chemical Engineering Design Competition was held online between August 17 and 22, 2022. HNU team, named “Xin Chun Qi He”, won the first prize. The team members were: Guan Yuning, Wang Shengyu, Wang Yike, Wang Cairong, and Wu Yidi.
The team participated in the competition with their project of annual production of 100,000 tons of 1,4-Butanediol in a new materials company in Inner Mongolia. This project was eco-friendly, low-carbon, safe and energy-saving. It had won thegrand prize in the South China competition zone and qualified for the national final.
The National College Students Chemical Engineering Design Competition makes the list of theA-Class College Students Academic Competitions and it is the largest and most influential chemical engineering contest. More than 10,000 college students coming from 415 chemical engineering universities nationwide registered for participation. Through cross-provincial reviews and selections in 7 competition zones, 60 teamswon the access to the national final.
