An MBA/EMBA teaching case of HNU Business School–Vanke Port Apartment: Digital Technology-Driven Business Model Innovation—was recently accepted by Ivey Business School Case Library, an internationally top-tier business case library, and published globally. This case was co-authored by Associate Professor Zeng Wei from HNU Business School; Professor Peng Chunyan from the University of Missouri of the United States; Professor Su Ning from the Ivey Business School of Canada; Zhang Sirui, a postgraduate student at HNU Business School; and, Xiao Xin, a partner of Xiaobo Technology, a tech subsidiary under Vanke's rental housing brand "Port Apartment".
This case serves as a companion to Vanke Port Apartment: Making a Rental Homey with Digital Technology, which was published in 2021 and concurrently accepted by both case libraries of Harvard Business School and Ivey Business School. After four years, the research team has continuously tracked the digital transformation of Vanke Port Apartment program, and systematically demonstrated the program's strategic evolution from "technology-empowered" to "data-driven" paradigm.
To date, the School of Business Administration has seven teaching cases accepted by the case libraries of Harvard Business School and Ivey Business School, ranking first in the province and among the top nationwide.
In recent years, faculties of HNU Business School have engaged with local corporate practices, focusing on cutting-edge issues such as digital transformation and organizational reform and compiling an array of high-quality cases of originality. Three cases have been included by the Harvard Business School Case Library, and four by the Ivey Business School Case Library, including: Didi Chuxing: Revolutionizing Public Transportation in China by Professor Zhu Guowei and his team; and, Bosch Automotive Product (Changsha): Leveraging Culture for Digital Transformation and Vanke Port Apartment: Making a Rental Homey with Digital Technology by Associate Professor Zeng Wei and her team. These cases have provided practical examples with a Chinese perspective for global business education.
