The third "Lotus Prize" International Industrial Design and Innovation Competition was concluded on the evening of January 10, 2013. In the open group competition, 17 works were given gold, silver, and bronze awards, covering high-end equipment manufacturing industry, integration of culture and technology, and environmental sustainable development. Besides, five works of production design won the enterprise innovation award.
In the open group competition, NOVA Amphibious Rescue Vehicle, devised by Yang Xu and his partners from Shaanxi University of Technology, won the gold prize of re-design and application in high-end equipment manufacturing industry. Revive Mawangdui, created by Xiang Zhewei and his team workers from Shih Chien University, gained the gold prize of products innovation and application in promoting the integration of culture and technology. The gold prize winner of the design and application in environmentally sustainable development and social innovation was Halo Rhythm designed by Duan Ran from Hunan University, which skillfully applied the photovoltaic technology into the public seats and integrated the technology well with the lighting system.
The "Lotus Prize" has become a top international industrial design competition. The third "Lotus Prize" received 3,684 works from nine countries and regions such as Italy, Russia, Singapore, Holland, Denmark, and South Korea.
