From October 29 to 31, organized by the China Computer Federation and jointly hosted by Hunan University and the National Supercomputing Center in Changsha, the National Annual Conference on High Performance Computing 2012 (HPC-China 2012) is held in Zhangjiajie.
At the opening ceremony, Professor Yang Xuejun, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CSA) and president of National University of Defense Technology (NUDT), made a speech on the theme of “Challenges and Thoughts of E-level Computers”
Professor Rechard Moore, director of San Diego Supercomputing Center in America, also delivered a keynote speech on “Latest Technology Trends of Data-intensive Super Computer”.
Steve Scott, CTO of Tesla Business Division of NVIDIA, made a report on “GPU Calculation and Way to Calculating Billions of Times”.
Zhang Yunquan, researcher of the Software Institution of CAS, gave a speech themed “Analysis and Prospects of the Development of High Performance Computer in China”. Meanwhile, he released the Ranking List of Top 100 High Performance Computer in China, which attracts widespread attention in each HPC China.
Nearly 600 experts, scholars and representatives of enterprises attended the conference,. They are from domestic and foreign universities, research institutions, as well as well-known domestic and overseas IT companies. At the conference, academic exchanges have been carried out on such subjects as research progress development trends of high performance computing technology and significant applications of high performance computing. A large-scale exhibition was also held on high performance computing industry and its achievements in scientific research.
