The 12th Cross-Strait Academic Symposium on College Campus was held in Hunan University (HNU) on Oct. 25th. It was hosted by the symposium organizing committee and Hunan University, and co-organized by HNU College of Architecture, Taiwan University and College of Urban and Environmental Sciences of Peking University.
Experts and guests presented at the event include HNU Party Secretary Liu Keli, former Vice President of Peking University and Chairman of the organizing committee of the event Hao Bin, President of Yuelu Academy Zhu Hanming, and chief librarian of Taiwan University and Vice Secretary of the organizing committee Lin Guangmei. Party Secretary of HNU College of Architecture Prof. Liu Su presided over the opening ceremony and the college dean Prof. Wei Chunyu delivered a welcome speech.
Focusing on the theme “university and city”, the symposium attracted famous architects, scholars and experts from architectural firms and universities in both Taiwan and the Mainland of China, such as Taiwan University, Taipei University, Taiwan Chung Yuan University, Taiwan Tunghai University, and over 10 top institutions of higher education in Mainland of China including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Southeast University, Zhejiang University, as well as outstanding architectural firms, journals and magazines throughout the whole country. The participants had hot discussions on issues concerning relationships between college campus construction and urban development.
The symposium provided the scholars and students from Taiwan and mainland with a platform for communication and cooperation.
