In order to promote Chinese couplet culture and accelerate the creation and development of modern couplets, the Changsha Summit of 2012 China Couplet Forum and Seminar on Hunan Couplet Culture was held in the College of Architecture of Hunan University on October 5th.
Liu Taipin, Assistant President of Chinese Couplets Association attended the summit and extended his gratitude towards the great contributions made by Hunan celebrities including Wang Chunshan, Tao Shu, Wei Yuan, Zeng Guofan, Zuo Zongtang, Hu Linyi and Wang Kai, due to which the creation of such verses flourished and reached its peak in the Qing Dynasty (1636-1911AD). Hunan continues to play an exemplary role across the country due to its remarkable performance in hosting plenty of high-quality couplet contests in recent years.
At the summit, couplet experts and calligraphers also created a series of on-site works on Huxiang culture and Changsha scenic spots.
