Xie Chi, born in July 1963 in Zhuzhou, Hunan Province, is currently the professor, doctoral supervisor of Hunan University. He also serves as HNU Vice President, member of the Academic Research and Academic Degrees Committee, and director of the Academic Committee of Department of Management of the university. He is honored as an expert enjoying the special allowance of the State Council.

Honors & Rewards

Xie Chi has been devoting himself in teaching, scientific research and management for a long period. He was elected as a New Century National Candidate of the “Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand” Talents Program and the candidate of Hunan’s Hundred Talents Project on social science, and won the Outstanding Young Teacher Award approved by Ministry of Education as well as the Henry Fok Young Teacher Award supported by Henry Fok Education Foundation. He has presided over many national research projects including one key and two general projects supported by the National Social Science Fund, two projects of the National Natural Science Fund, one project of the National Soft Science Fund, two projects of the Doctoral Special Fund by Ministry of Education and one of the 15 key projects of National Educational Sciences.

Xie has published a number of academic papers in top international journals such as Neurocomputing, Physica A, International Journal of Information Technology & Decision Making, Quality & Quantity, Nonlinear Dynamics, Entropy, and Acta Physica Polonica B, as well as domestic journals including Social Sciences in China, Journal of Management Sciences in China, Systems Engineering-Theory and Practice, Chinese Journal of Management Science, Management World, Journal of Financial Research, Statistical Research, The Journal of Quantitative & Technical Economics, and The Journal of World Economy. Some of his papers were published on the SCI/SSCI journals and Xinhua Digest. Beyond that, his monographs includingStudy on Exchange Rate Forecasts and Foreign Exchange Intervention,Description and Forecasts of Chinese Securities Market Behavior,Study on Term Structure of Interest Rates, andDescription and Risk Management of Behavior of Interest Rates.

He has undertaken one research project awarded first-prize of the National Award for Outstanding Education Achievement, one project awarded third-prize of Outstanding Achievements Award for Social Scientific Research in Institutes of Higher Education authorized by the Ministry of Education, two projects won first-prize of Hunan Provincial Award for Outstanding Achievements in Social Science, and one won first-prize of the Outstanding Achievements Award supported by Hunan Provincial Social Science Fund.
